World Water Week
World Water Week in Stockholm is an annual, non-profit event organized by SIWI, convening decision-makers, experts, and practitioners from around the world on shared water challenges. SIWI’s role is to provide the overall governance, vision, and framework for the Week while co-creating the content with a global community of partners, advisors, and programme committees. World Water Week benefits from SIWI’s impartial convening role, allowing the event to bring diverse perspectives together in an open, credible, and inclusive space. This approach supports SIWI’s mission and engagement pillars by linking dialogue, trusted knowledge, and institutional learning into global policy and governance discussions.
Scientific Programme Committee (SPC)
The Scientific Programme Committee shapes the intellectual core of World Water Week. Composed of international professors, scientists, and experts from water and development fields, the SPC defines the thematic scope of the Week and guides the SIWI Seminar Series. Through independent scientific oversight, the committee helps ensure that discussions are evidence-based, relevant, and aligned with global water governance priorities.
Young Scientific Programme Committee (YSPC)
The Young Scientific Programme Committee are young professionals aged 35 or younger selected each year to work closely with the SPC. Together they shape the SIWI Seminar Series, strengthening intergenerational dialogue and bringing new perspectives.
Partners and collaboration with global convening organizations
World Water Week is co-created with a wide network of strategic partners and global organizations that contribute expertise, networks, and diverse perspectives. Through sessions and collaborative formats, partners help enrich the programme and reflect the shared ownership and inclusive co-creation that underpin the Week as a global platform for dialogue and learning.
